Elliott’s wish was to go to a Pittsburgh Steelers game.
In 2012, Elliott was diagnosed with hepatoblastoma when he was just 1 1/2 years old. After his diagnosis, he received a liver transplant and was cancer free. In 2015, he received a secondary cancer diagnosis of juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia and received a bone marrow transplant to once again beat cancer. In 2017, Elliott’s family received the unthinkable news that his cancer had returned yet again.
Elliott is a HUGE football fan. His wish was to go to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and watch the Steelers play. Elliott and his family made the journey this fall to watch the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Cincinnati Bengals. Elliott is from Valley Center, Kansas a suburb of Wichita and Pittsburgh Steelers offensive-lineman B.J. Finney is also from the Wichita area. When B.J. heard that Elliott and his family were going to be in town he invited them to team training the day before the game and also to come down on the field for pre-game warm-ups on game day. During the game, Elliott and his family were able to sit in a suite, meet Steely McBeam and cheer the Steelers on to a victory.
“We had a blast. We were able to forget everything we are facing and going through and just enjoy family time.” – Jessica (Elliott’s mom)
We are so glad we were able to make this wish come true for Elliott and his family.
